    In this video, we introduce Codiska for Schools, an educational tool that integrates coding education into school curricula while fostering essential soft skills like problem-solving, creativity, and self-confidence. The 5-year curriculum uses a project-based flipped learning approach, allowing students to learn at their own pace and apply their knowledge to real-world projects. A key feature is its accessibility for teachers; they don’t need to be coding experts to effectively teach the curriculum.

    Lund International School (LIS) offers a dynamic educational environment that caters to students from diverse cultural backgrounds, promoting a holistic approach to learning.

    Their after-school program emphasises a wide range of activities that nurture both academic and personal growth. With a focus on creativity, teamwork, and leadership, LIS provides students with opportunities to explore interests beyond the classroom, making their after-school sessions a vital part of their overall development.

    LIS was keen to enhance their after-school programming activities and integrate more coding education into their offerings. However, they encountered a few areas where they sought external support to ensure success.

    Challenge

    LIS wanted to provide engaging activities that would prepare students for the future, but coding was seen as complex and out of reach for both teachers and students. There was concern about whether coding would be too challenging for the students.

    Solution

    Codiska's AI-powered platform offered a simple, step-by-step approach that allowed teachers, even without coding expertise, to facilitate coding lessons. With Codiska’s support, LIS launched the program where students learned coding through interactive, puzzle-like activities.

    Implementation

    Despite initial concerns about the potential complexity of coding activities for younger students, Codiska’s user-friendly design proved to be both intuitive and effective. The platform’s step-by-step guidance and project-based learning approach ensured that students could easily grasp fundamental coding concepts.

    Even without any prior programming experience, the teachers managed to handle the class like seasoned coders—discussing projects with their students and maybe even surprising themselves along the way!

    Results

    The program was a success, with students enthusiastically participating and requesting more coding activities. The structured approach made it easy for both teachers and students to follow along. It led to plans for ongoing integration of Codiska into LIS’s after-school programs, and LIS saw the potential for further integration of coding into their curriculum. Anoli emphasized how coding education is essential for helping students understand and positively use technology.
